Giro d'Italia 2018 stage 8 profile

The second summit finale of this years’ edition. With a length of 208 km, it is a reasonably long stage from Praia a mare to the summit of Montevergine di Mercogliano. After the Lucan coast on the Tyrrhenian Sea, the course runs across the Cilento along its beaches up to Salerno, where the road constantly climbs up to the final ascent leading to the sanctuary. Besides hosting the finish line for 5 times in the 2000s, the finish was located here in 1962 (Desmet).
