Vuelta a España 2014 Stage 13 Details – it is a 188.7 km hilly stage from Belorado to Obregón, Parque De Cabárceno (Cabarceno Natural Park).

The Vuelta arrives in Cantabria and, more specifically, in Cabárceno Natural Park. The final part of the stage features a winding route with three mountain passes and the end is a climb, though not a very steep one. It will be a favorable day for breakaways. The last stages are fast approaching and the favorites will have to be very careful not to lose their spots in the general classification.

The start of Vuelta a España 2014 Stage 12 will be in Belorado, a village, and municipality in Spain, belonging to the Province of Burgos, in the autonomous community of Castile-Leon. It has a population of approximately 2,100 inhabitants.

Belorado is located in one of the most important, existing, cultural routes in the world, the Way of St. James, and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

It is not the only one, though, as here we can enjoy such unique and different elements, both nationally and internationally, as: The Puras de Villafranca Mining Complex, the International Radio Communication Museum, the recreation of Europe’s biggest trench or the Ethnographic Complex of San Miguel de Pedroso.

The churches of San Pedro and Santa María, with some of the most famous Baroque altarpieces in Castilla y Leon, or the convent of Nuestra Señora de la Bretonera. Nature provides the perfect setting for sporting activities and adventure. One cannot forget the impressive gastronomic and commercial offers (fur shops, furniture factories, decoration, craftwork, etc) that are so varied and recommendable.

With a social fabric and very active partnership that generates activities as important as The Alfonsina Fair, the Noche Blanca, Semana Santa, the Three Kings’ Parade, the folklore festival, etc and a great diversity of sporting events.

The Natural Park is located in Cabárceno, Pisueña Valley (region of Pas-Miera) 15 kilometers (9.3 mi) from Santander, located in a former iron mine removal in the town of Cabárceno Township Penagos (Cantabria, Spain). The park belongs to Cantur, a public company to promote tourism under the Government of Cantabria.

Cabárceno Park has two roles: one is the conservation of endangered species and the other is environmental education.
