  1. If you have the budget for it and the space for two bikes – get a road bike for the road and keep the MTB for off-road. Win-Win!

  2. Good article, there’s a lot on there I hadn’t actually considered, especially about raising the seat hight a little.
    One more thing I would add to it is to fit tubeless tyres – the rotational weight savings will help if there’s a lot of stop start accelerating.
    Ideally get a 2nd pair of lighter wheels for road riding, narrower rims, thinner lighter tyres and a close ratio block that doesn’t have the big gaps up to a 40t sprocket.
