Vuelta a España 2013 Stage 6 is a plain stage between Guijuelo and Cáceres. The length of the course is 175 km.

This stage will most likely be a very fast one. The departure from Guijuelo and the route to Cáceres will invite the peloton to reach very high speeds and the sprinter teams will do their best to prevent any breakaways.

Vuelta a España 2013 Stage 4 Details

Vuelta a España 2013 Stage 4 is between Lalín / a Estrada and Fisterra. The length of the course is 189 km. The stage is listed as Mountains with Summit Finish, but not so mountainous in fact. It ends with a short but steep uphill, like stage three, so it’s suitable to the puncheurs.

The fourth stage of the Vuelta will also feature a route commonly referred to as a “leg breaker”. The final part of the stage will again spike up although it won’t be challenging enough to result in significant changes in the classification. In theory, all leaders should be able to complete this stage without too much trouble. The stage will consist of 186 kilometers and will end at the finish line located in Fisterra “el Fin del Mundo” (The end of the Earth).

The peloton also climb the “Mirador de Ezaro” along the way.

Vuelta a España 2013 stage 3 is a flat stage between Vigo and Mirador de Lobeira. The length of the course is 184.8 km. The stage is listed as plain, but it ends with a short but steep uphill, so it’s suitable for the puncheurs.

Vuelta a España 2013 Stages

Vuelta a España 2013 edition will start in Vilanova de Arousa on August 24th, Saturday, and finish in Madrid on September 15th, Sunday. The race will start with a Team Time Trial and has 11 summit finishes this year, one more than in 2012. One of the summit finishes is at Peyragudes (in France). And the Angliru will be scene of the deciding stage.

Andrea Sandrino Carrea, Coppi’s last “Gregario” died aged 88

Andrea Sandrino Carrea, Fausto Coppi‘s last “gregario” (domestique) has died aged 88. He was the first cyclist to ride the Alpe d’Huez in the yellow jersey of leadership in the Tour de France and probably the only rider to have wept in distress at accidentally leading the race.
