Santini X IRONMAN: the new co-brand collection developed with pro triathletes

Santini continues evolving its triathlon expertise with a new collection comprising the Aahonui and Ika Ika lines, featuring the instantly recognizable M-Dot logo: Santini X IRONMAN is designed especially for athletes tackling the toughest of all triathlon events.

Leading cycling and triathlon technical wear brand Santini presents the new Santini x IRONMAN collection.

Developed with input from the professional triathletes that help the Italian company hone its products, the new collection is designed for all athletes who like to push their limits in the competition that is the very pinnacle of tri aspiration: the Ironman.

Santini’s new collection spans two lines, both with highly evocative names.

Santini X IRONMAN: The Aahonui line

The Hawaiian word Aahonui means patience and perseverance, both of which are vital for the triathletes tackling Ironman competitions to whom this collection is dedicated. The line comprises an aerodynamic cycling skinsuit (men’s and women’s versions) made from light, quick-drying fabrics.

The Viper suit was tested in the wind tunnel and developed in collaboration with the triathletes from the Santini team. It is made from a combination of two fabrics that optimize aerodynamics: light, breathable, quick-drying Trophy by Sitip for the main garment with the sleeves in Swan Warp.

The area of the suit where the chamois pad meets the saddle also has gripper fabric that helps keep the rider steady in the saddle.

Speaking of which, the Viper includes the Santini IMG pad which is designed specifically for triathletes and features Tower Gel by Nicolini.

The latter gel has, as the name suggests, a structure made up of small towers which are higher around the seat bone areas and lower at the edges of the pad for optimal shock absorption.

The slim, flexible, quick-drying IMG pad is also a feather-light 52 grams. It doesn’t absorb water and guarantees superior breathability to a conventional gel pad.

The skinsuit, as is the case with the Ahaonui cycling kit, comes in navy with red and grey detailing for men, and in navy blue with grenadine red and grey detailing. It is, of course, available in a range of different sizes and patterns for both men and women.

Santini X IRONMAN: The Ika Ika line

Ika Ika is the Hawaiian term for power and strength, both of which are reflected in the colors of the Santini kit: red and black for men, and aquamarine and black for women.

The top-of-the-range product is, of course, the short-sleeve long-distance Sleek trisuit with mesh sides for optimal moisture wicking and evaporation. Also available are a sleeveless trisuit version, a two-piece trisuit, and a cycling kit.

About Santini

Santini Cycling Wear was founded in 1965 by Pietro Santini who spotted a market for technical cycling clothing as a result of his abiding passion for the sport and competition.

In what would seem like a revolutionary and contrarian choice today, the Bergamo-based company made the pivotal decision to design and manufacture all of its products exclusively in Italy.

Each item is designed and developed by a design team with a deep-rooted passion for the two-wheel world to meet four key requirements: fit, performance, comfort, and durability.

Santini currently produces 5,000 items of clothing per day and exports 80% of its output. It is deeply committed to ongoing investment in researching and developing innovative textiles and new production methods.

However, people – athletes – remain its central focus as it continues to refine its creations to allow cyclists to pursue their sporting passions in a comfortable but inimitably stylish kit.
