Selle Italia launches Flite Boost Mathieu van der Poel limited edition saddle

Selle Italia launches a saddle inspired by and dedicated to Mathieu Van Der Poel’s victory at the Tour of Flanders: a collectible Flite Boost available in a limited production run of 104 pieces, equal to the number of Ronde Van Vlaanderen editions held as of 2020. The Flite Boost #RVV20 Limited Edition saddle, signed directly by the Dutch champion, can be reserved online on the Selle Italia website starting today, Monday 21st December.

To say he’s the rising star of cycling is an understatement: Mathieu Van Der Poel of the Alpecin Fenix team is one of the upcoming talents destined to make cycling history in the next few years. A history which recently saw him become the three-time cyclo-cross world champion, who in 2020 claimed a chapter in the cycling narrative of this torturous season, winning the Ronde Van Vlaanderen, better known as the Tour of Flanders.

“A success story absolutely deserving of celebration” is what they thought at Selle Italia, so much so as to dedicate a limited edition of a high-end product to the Dutch cyclist: the Flite Boost #RVV20 Limited Edition saddle.

“An exclusive limited production of just 104 pieces, marking the number of Ronde Van Vlaanderen editions held as of today,” commented Nicola Baggio, General Manager of Selle Italia. “A unique saddle that celebrates the talent and class of a young Dutch champion, set to become a collectors’ item for cycling enthusiasts.”

A special edition of the Flite Boost in its Kit Carbonio Superflow version (idmatch L3), and therefore with the following measurements W 145mm x L 250mm.

And as if that weren’t enough, to make everything even more exclusive and further increase its value, the 104 saddles will all be signed by hand directly by Mathieu Van Der Poel.

Ronde van Vlaanderen 2020, the 104th edition of the Tour of Flanders was held on 18 October 2020, as the 20th event of the 2020 UCI World Tour. For the occasion, the Asolo-based company has thought up a truly special packaging containing all the information about the Tour of Flanders, MVDP and the Flite Boost saddle, highlighting the uniqueness of this initiative. In other words, the perfect gift to place under the Christmas tree.

The retail price of Flite Boost #RVV20 Limited Edition is £379,90 (€399.90) and as of 21st December, the Van Der Poel saddle can be reserved exclusively online on the official Selle Italia website.
