Already a partner of the IRONMAN European Series in the past two years, Selle Italia becomes the “Official Bicycle Saddle” and “Supplier Partner” of the IRONMAN Global Series. The new agreement also provides for the production and sale of a customized “Watt” triathlon saddle with the iconic IRONMAN logo, which will be available on online channels as well as in official merchandising at triathlon events marked with the “little red-man”.
Selle Italia announces the extension of the agreement with IRONMAN: as a partner of the European Series in 2019 and 2020, from this year the Italian brand is “Official Bicycle Saddle” and “Supplier Partner” of the IRONMAN Global Series. Furthermore, Selle Italia collaborates with IRONMAN to expand its digital footprint by becoming the “Official Platform Partner” of IRONMAN Virtual Club, and the agreement includes a further element: the production and sale of a triathlon saddle with the prestigious logo from IRONMAN.
“We are pleased to announce the extension of this important partnership with IRONMAN also in this 2021 and for the entire IRONMAN Global Series, a collaboration that once again confirms our commitment in the triathlon segment,” said Giuseppe Bigolin, President of Selle Italia, “and, with the IRONMAN Virtual Club, our strong focus on pursuing a strong and complete digitalization strategy”.
“We are thrilled to extend our global relationship with Selle Italia and, as part of this, launch a line of co-branded ‘Watt’ saddles. The Watt saddle is the ideal product for triathlon, and we look forward to sharing this collaboration with the IRONMAN community” said Matt Wikstrom, IRONMAN Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships.
The new agreement provides for the production and sale – both on online channels and at the official IRONMAN Merchandise Store – of a saddle dedicated to the most important triathlon circuit in the world. This is the specific Watt saddle for the triple discipline, a model launched by Selle Italia at the beginning of 2020 and made in collaboration with the two-time winner of IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, Patrick Lange, who will present the characteristic IRONMAN logo.
The saddle will be available in two variants: Watt Kit Carbonio Superflow with carbon rail for maximum performance, and Watt Gel Superflow with TI316 rail and a layer of gel inside the padding – in the front area – for greater comfort.
The historic agreement will see Selle Italia products exhibited all over the world and available to the more than 250,000 IRONMAN® and IRONMAN® 70.3® athletes who compete on average every year.
