Milan-San Remo 2013: Ciolek brings to MTN-Qhubeka its first WorldTour victory

Gerald Ciolek, German rider of South African MTN-Qhubeka won the first classic and monumental of the year, Milan-San Remo 2013, “la primavera”. It was the South African team’s first-ever WorldTour victory. Ciolek won the sprint against Peter Sagan of Cannondale, who finished second, and Fabian Cancellara of RadioShack-Leopard, who completed the podium.

The famous Italian bicycle manufacturer Pinarello has released another special edition bike: DOGMA 65.1 Campagnolo 80th Anniversary Special Edition.

Previously, Pinarello has made a special Giro d’Italia edition of Pinarello DOGMA 65.1 Think 2, their high-end racing bike: Dogma 65.1 Think 2 2013 Giro d’Italia Edition.

Kadri wins 2013 Roma Maxima

Blel Kadri (Ag2r la Mondiale) won the 2013 Roma Maxima after being in the break of the race and spending a total of 127 km out front. Filippo Pozzato of Lampre Merida won the sprint in the chasing bunch and finished in second, but he believed he had won the race and threw his arms in the air as a victorious gesture. Grega Bole of Vacansoleil-DCM finished in third.

Is Indurain another Tour de France winner who doped?

According to reports published on cycling news today, 5-time Tour de France winner Miguel Indurain and his Banesto team worked with Dr. Francesco Conconi in the nineties.

Cycling News wrote today that highly respected Italian anti-doping expert Sandro Donati claims to have evidence that Indurain and his Banesto team worked with Dr. Francesco Conconi in the nineties. Donati told nos.nl that Conconi “had contracts with Banesto for high amounts.” (Sandro Donati now works as a researcher with the WADA – World Anti-Doping Agency)

Campagnolo 80th Anniversary Groupset

Campagnolo has revealed the 80th Anniversary Groupset. The group is mechanical, has the quality of Super Record level but labeled 80th Anniversary group with a Matte finish. The limited production will be available this spring.

There’s also an 80th Anniversary wheelset released by the Italian brand. The wheelset has two options: Bora Ultra II or Bullet Ultra but named “80th Anniversary” with Matte finishing. These can be ordered with the group set or separately.
